Bottle Cap Mosaics

Created across different cities and programs, these water bottle cap mosaics focus on our culture's excessive plastic use and waste. Students considered their part in the "reduce, reuse, recycle" system through creating large scale mosaics made from plastic bottle caps and other reused plastic objects. Collaboration and student leadership were essential in this project: the students designed the mosaic images collectively, glued the bottle caps, and participated in discussions about plastic waste. Students exercized their artistic and collaborative skills to create permanent artwork that aimed to educate and inspire their school and community.
