Art on Saturdays
In collaboration with Castle Hill Center for the Arts, I founded the "Art on Saturdays" program. It consisted of six workshops that ran throughout the fall of 2017. Through fundraising, we were able to create a dynamic and affordable art education experience for local students. The program had over twenty students ranging from ages 7-15. The students learned bookmaking, maskmaking, printmaking, and sculpture.
With support from the staff at Castle Hill, I coordinated the program, raised funds, and promoted at local schools and event. I also wrote and taught the curriculum.
In the culminating exhibition at Castle Hill Center for the Arts, students were able to display their felt identity flags, their handmade books, and their gelatin monoprints. The event was a marvelous occasion for students to show their families the artwork they had created.
