Bookmaking Collections

Grades 9&10 | Jones College Prep | Student Teaching 2015

In this project, students created their own handmade books. Students learned two different bookmaking techniques and chose which format best suited their ideas. Students collected 2-D objects and displayed them in their books. In the process of bookmaking, students considered how they could visually enhance the personal aspect of their collections for the reader. Students ended the project by writing each other letters that discussed the conceptual and visual strengths and weakness of their peers' work. Below are examples of the student work.
